The Sioux City Economic Development Department has created this award to highlight businesses that provide significant growth and commitment in Sioux City. Future companies will be selected on a periodic basis and recognized by the Mayor at the beginning of Council meetings. Those businesses will also be given a certificate to receive a complimentary tree, signifying the growth of the business and helping to beautify the City, which will be planted on their property by City crews in the spring.

The marketing initiative is geared towards building partnerships as well as recognizing and promoting business growth within in the Sioux City community.

 

ACES Awarded for Aviation Growth

Aviation Consultant Expert Solutions, LLC (ACES) received the "Growing Sioux City Award" today as they demonstrate start-up success in Sioux City. ACES CEO Jim Sponder and CEO Travis Stein were joined by Seaborne Airlines COO Dave Ziemer, Mayor Bob Scott, Councilman Tom Padgett, City Staff and Airport Board members to celebrate their growth in the last year. First Administrators, Inc. Recognized for New Jobs & Commitment to Sioux City

Sioux City Mayor, Bob Scott, presented the “Growing Sioux City Award” to First Administrators, Inc (FAI) officials including Phil Davis, FAI's President and President and COO of Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield of South Dakota, and John Forsyth, Wellmark, Inc's Chairman and CEO. FAI has added more than 30 new jobs at its newly remodeled Sioux City location.

Cargill Receives City Award for Growth

A “Growing Sioux City Award” was presented to Cargill, Inc. today recognizing the company’s significant growth and investment in Sioux City. The award, presented by Mayor Bob Scott, was accepted by Cargill facility superintendent, Brian Spencer. Cargill executives were provided Sioux City windshirts and a magnolia tree was planted at the business entrance at 18th & Steuben Streets, signifying the company’s commitment to growing in Sioux City.  Read more...
