The Sioux City Economic Development Department has created this award to highlight businesses that provide significant growth and commitment in Sioux City. Future companies will be selected on a periodic basis and recognized by the Mayor at the beginning of Council meetings. Those businesses will also be given a certificate to receive a complimentary tree, signifying the growth of the business and helping to beautify the City, which will be planted on their property by City crews in the spring.

The new marketing initiative is geared towards building partnerships as well as recognizing and promoting business growth within in the Sioux City community.
